How do I edit?
Choose from two editors - a full record editor that lets you edit a partner record all at once or an inline editor that allows you to edit in the table.
* Full record editor - when you select a record a popup dialogue allows you to choose New, Edit or Delete. As you enter new field data in the popup screen choose "APPLY" periodically to ensure that your data is not lost when the screen auto refreshes. [Auto refresh allows for people in different places to be able to see updates to a table around the same time]
* Inline editor - double click on a cell to edit in place. IMPORTANT a current bug is that most punctuation (quotes, hyphens and question marks) block entry into the inline editor. A good practice is to use little or no punctuation in most fields or the Full Editor for fields that must have it.
Completing an action is as simple as entering a "done" date. IMPORTANT you actually need to add a new (different) date into the "done" field (I hope to change this). When you add a new date, the action, who was responsible and date of completion are stored in the partner's history.
Partner - Name of potential partner. This field is required.
Stage - These are suggested categories of relationships. Define them however works best for you.
* * 1 - Current Partner
* * 2 - Highly Likely Partner
* * 3 - Likely Partner
* * 4 - Possible Partner
Next Touch - What you will do next to develop the partnership. Note a touch can be anyway in which you build the relationship.
Next by whom - Who is responsible for the next touch? This can be more than one person (separate names by "/" or comma).
Next by when - Deadline for next action
Last touches - Record of last contacts
Notes - Anything of importance to remember
Filters - Filter boxes are below the table and under their corresponding fields. Simply enter the text to filter for specific criteria.
Sorting - Clicking on a field header (if the field contains a header will sort ascending. Clicking a second time will sort descending.
Searching - Enter text in the search box at the top of the table to search across all fields.
There are 5 types of reports:
* Management, Info, Contact, Giving and FullView. Each report reflects the fields you can see on the screen under these views. The FullView contains all information and is a way to keep an offline record.
IMPORTANT -- reports ONLY reflect the VISIBLE rows on your screen.
* Example 1 - A report for all of the actions assigned to "John" - filter for John in the Next by Whom column, sort by Next by When column, click show ALL entries, download report
* Example 2 - A report of ALL actions assigned to anyone - sort by Next by When, click show ALL entries, download report
To download a report for all rows, simply choose to show all fields.
